A new career step
We spoke with two professionals, Tom Couwenberg and Niels van den Boom, about their journey to Improvia and their experiences since joining.
For Niels, Improvia was a logical choice after he decided to leave his previous employer. “The organization I was in was very chaotic,” he says. “Things were arranged haphazardly. For example, you were suddenly sent abroad without a clear plan. I was looking for structure and more control over my work.”
Improvia offered exactly that: stability, clear processes, and an environment where his skills as a software engineer could be fully utilized. Niels was considering a Bachelor’s degree in mechatronics at Avans University of Applied Sciences in Breda and now has almost four years of work experience in the technical sector. “At Improvia, my education aligned well with what I do now, especially in the projects I work for clients in the mechanical engineering industry.”
Tom also found Improvia through his own research. “I searched for technical companies in the region on Google Maps, and Improvia stood out. The website immediately piqued my interest, so I decided to apply.” Tom was considering a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Fontys University of Applied Sciences and has been working in the field since 2018. “I love the combination of mathematics and physics—forces, moments, formulas—and at Improvia, I apply that knowledge every day.”

What’s truly important to Improvia?
