Internship assignment for Technical HBO Education, the Smart Rollator

Are you a creative and technical whiz? Do you have a passion for innovation and technology? Then we’re looking for you! For our project, we’re looking for a versatile tinkerer, a true tech unicorn, who can help us with challenging tasks in mechanical engineering and software development.

In this internship assignment you will have the opportunity to work on various technical challenges:

• Mechanical Engineering: You will be involved in developing new handles and integrating a new controller. This offers you the opportunity to further develop your Solidworks/Inventor and rapid prototyping skills.
• Software Development: A large part of the assignment focuses on controlling the wheels, which primarily requires software knowledge. You will be working with a 24V 6.5-inch wheel hub motor (RBE-102024-003), a BLDC (Brushless DC) motor.
• Motor Control: The motor is controlled by an MDR800 dual motor driver. Since limited documentation is available for this controller, this presents a unique challenge that will test your problem-solving skills.
• Microcontroller: The MDR800 is controlled by an Arduino Nano ESP32 microcontroller. This is your opportunity to apply your microcontroller knowledge and develop innovative solutions.
